ABOUT DUSTY RECORDS

Dusty Records is a small independent record label owned and operated by record producer Dustin Bennett.

Dusty Records provides recording and promotional services to Chicago-based artists who demonstrate exceptional artistic ambition and unwavering dedication to their craft. By encouraging a collaborative work ethic and the dissolution of generic boundaries, we hope to establish a symbiotic yet diverse community of artists that share serious professional aspirations.

Dusty Records affords artists the many advantages of a small independent label, including higher royalty percentages, an emphasis upon artistic development, and, most importantly, the invaluable, consistent attention and enthusiasm that only a small company can provide. Some of our greatest strengths, however, are more uncommon: recording, photography, web design, and promotional artwork services are all available in-house, and at no cost to the artist.

We provide truly unparalleled developmental opportunities for artists who are ready to take their careers to the next level.

F.A.Q.
Frequently Asked Questions

1. I don't see your records in stores. Where can I buy a Dusty Records release?

For the time being, our records are sold exclusively at live shows and via our online store, The Dust Bin. You will, however, be able to purchase our music from prominent online distributors in the near future.

2. How can I send you a demo recording?

We are not accepting unsolicited demos at this time. However, if you would like to add us as a MySpace friend at myspace.com/dustyrecordsusa, it is probable that we'll take a look at your work. This can save you a lot of money on postage, too!

3. Are you hiring employees or interns?

We are not hiring employees or interns at this time. But thanks for asking!

4. I work for a magazine, a newspaper, or a cutting-edge hipster weblog. How can I interview one of your artists?

First, try to contact the artist's management directly. You can find the necessary contact information on the artist's official website. If this proves unsuccessful, send us an email here.

5. I'm a starving artist. Will you feed me?

It's possible! We're always looking for talented visual artists who could help with all sorts of album and promotional artwork. Assemble an online portfolio, add us as a friend on MySpace at myspace.com/dusty_records, and send us a message directing us to your work. It doesn't have to be anything fancy, and could, in fact, be within your MySpace page itself. Just point us in the right direction, and we'll see if we can do business.

6. I've got a question you haven't answered.

Rest assured that we'll have more information up here very soon. In the meantime, you can contact us via email.
